Indore Tukoji Rao I Silver Rupee AH 1211/38 RY – Malharnagar Mint | KM#58.2 | About Uncirculated | Rare
A rare Indore State silver Rupee of Tukoji Rao I (1795–1797 AD), dated AH 1211 / 38 RY, struck at the Malharnagar Mint in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II. Weighing approximately 11.15 g, this historic coin is catalogued as KM#58.2.
The coin belongs to the early Holkar-period coinage of Indore and is particularly desirable for its Bilva (leaf) and Shiva Lingam mint marks on the reverse. These distinctive religious and mint symbols are characteristic of this important series of Indore silver Rupees.
The present specimen is graded About Uncirculated (AU), retaining strong details and attractive surfaces with limited evidence of circulation. Its rare classification and connection with the short reign of Tukoji Rao I make it an excellent acquisition for collectors of Indore State, Holkar dynasty, Indian Princely States and early Indian silver coinage.
