Hyderabad ⅛ Rupee AH 130x – Mir Mahbub Ali Khan II | Silver | Farkhanda Bunyad Mint | KM# Y14 | Almost Uncirculated | Very Scarce
A very scarce Hyderabad State Silver ⅛ Rupee issued during the reign of Mir Mahbub Ali Khan II (AH 1285–1329 / 1869–1911 AD), the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad. Struck at the historic Farkhanda Bunyad Haidarabad Mint, this fractional silver coin weighs approximately 1.39 g and is catalogued as KM# Y14.
The obverse features the Persian letter “Mim” (م) representing Mahbub, together with the important Asaf Jahi inscription “Asaf Jah, Nizam-ul-Mulk.” The reverse carries the traditional Hyderabad mint formula “Zarb Julus Maimanat Manus Sana,” reflecting the coin's official issue under the Nizam's reign.
Dated AH 130x, this example is graded Almost Uncirculated (AU), retaining strong design detail and attractive surfaces with only minimal evidence of circulation. The combination of silver composition, fractional denomination, high grade and very scarce availability makes this an appealing piece for collectors of Hyderabad State, Nizam coinage, Asaf Jahi dynasty and Indian Princely State coins.
