A highly desirable 1939 Kuwait overprint on the India 5 Rupees green & blue King George VI definitive, offered as a complete block of four in Mint Never Hinged (MNH) condition. Catalogued as Stanley Gibbons SG 49, this high-denomination stamp was overprinted "KUWAIT" for use in the British Postal Agency in Kuwait, where Indian stamps served postal needs before independent Kuwaiti issues were introduced. Blocks of this denomination are considerably scarcer than single examples, particularly with full original gum and no hinge marks.
