1973 India International Philatelic Exhibition (INDIPEX-73) Miniature Sheet

Issued by India Post on 14 November 1973 to commemorate the India International Philatelic Exhibition (INDIPEX-73) held in New Delhi, this historic miniature sheet occupies a special place in Indian philately as India's first-ever miniature sheet. The sheet comprises four imperforate stamp designs, including the exhibition symbol, the iconic peacock, "All Roads to Delhi," and a depiction of the 1947 Independence stamp with a ceremonial elephant. Produced by the India Security Press, Nashik, the miniature sheet introduced multicolour printing techniques and innovative production methods to Indian stamp printing. With a total face value of ₹4.65, the sheet was issued as a complete collectible and the individual stamp cut-outs were not valid for postage. Highly prized by philatelists, the INDIPEX-73 miniature sheet remains one of the most important and sought-after milestones in the history of Indian postal issues.
