India 1949 Universal Postal Union VIP Folder

India 1949 UPU VIP Folder is one of the more desirable presentation items of early independent Indian philately. Issued to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the folder typically contains the complete set of four UPU commemorative stamps (9 Pies, 2 Annas, 3½ Annas and 12 Annas) released on 10 October 1949. The stamps depict the Ashokan Capital and a globe with a postal envelope, symbolizing international postal cooperation. VIP folders were specially prepared by the postal authorities for dignitaries and official presentations, making them scarcer than ordinary stamp sets or year packs.
