This rare Indo-French Silver Fanon (1/5 Rupee) was struck in 1771 at the historic Bhultcheri (Mahe) Mint, one of the French East India Company's important mints on the Malabar Coast. Featuring the distinctive "FRANS COMPANGI" legend on the obverse and the mint inscription on the reverse, this issue is catalogued as KM 67 and represents an important chapter in the colonial numismatic history of India. Certified by NGC as AU 58 (About Uncirculated), the coin retains exceptional detail, attractive original surfaces, and outstanding eye appeal, making it one of the finest surviving examples of this scarce type.
