1 Cent coins from British Malaya (1939) (1 Coin Per Order)
These
are square-shaped 1 Cent coins from British
Malaya, officially issued as “Commissioners of Currency
Malaya,” dated 1939, during
the reign of George VI. The obverse shows
the crowned portrait of King George VI with the inscription “GEORGE VI KING
EMPEROR,” while the reverse carries the denomination “1 CENT” and issuer name.
These coins were struck in bronze and are notable for their unusual
rounded-square shape, measuring about 21 mm across
and weighing roughly 5.5–6 g. They
circulated in territories that later became parts of modern Malaysia and Singapore.
