This historic banknote was issued by the State Bank of Pakistan during the period when East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) was part of Pakistan. It features a portrait of Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the obverse with inscriptions in Urdu, English, and Bengali, while the reverse depicts the State Bank of Pakistan Headquarters. Notes bearing the "Dhaka" overprint were specifically issued for circulation in East Pakistan and are distinguished by the black overprint indicating Dhaka. Following the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, these notes became an important part of South Asian monetary history and are highly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance and comparatively lower survival rate.
