Government of Pakistan 1 Rupee banknotes (3 Notes)- 1948-1961

These notes belong to the pre-Bangladesh era (United Pakistan) when East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) was part of Pakistan.

They circulated throughout both West Pakistan and East Pakistan from approximately 1948 until 1971. After Bangladesh became independent in 1971, Bangladesh introduced its own taka banknotes and gradually withdrew Pakistani rupee notes from circulation.

1. Red 1 Rupee Note

• First issued: 1948
• Reverse depicts Badshahi Mosque, Lahore.
• One of the earliest currency notes issued after Pakistan's independence.

2. Grey/Blue 1 Rupee Note

• Issued: Early 1950s (around 1951–1953).
• Same general design as the first issue but with changed colours and signatures.
• Reverse again shows Badshahi Mosque.

3. Blue 1 Rupee Note

• Issued: Late 1950s to early 1960s (approximately 1957–1961).
• Reverse changed to Minar-e-Pakistan, reflecting Pakistan's national monument.
• This is the last major Government of Pakistan 1 Rupee design before later State Bank issues.
