1900 Queen Victoria 1 Rupee – Calcutta Mint | Incused ‘C’ in Bottom Flower

(0 review)

Struck in 1900 during the reign of Queen Victoria, this silver 1 Rupee is a classic and highly desirable issue of British India. Minted at the Calcutta Mint, the coin is distinguished by the incused ‘C’ mint mark in the bottom flower of the reverse floral wreath, a key identifying feature for collectors of Victorian Indian coinage. The obverse bears the crowned and veiled portrait of Queen Victoria as Empress of India, while the reverse displays the denomination and date enclosed within an elegant floral wreath, one of the most iconic designs of the British India series. This is a Fine Coin.

The 1900 Calcutta Mint Rupee represents the final years of Queen Victoria's Indian coinage and is prized for its historical significance, silver content, and enduring collector appeal. The incused ‘C’ bottom flower mint mark is an important variety that attracts specialists in mint-mark studies and British India numismatics. Well-preserved examples are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly those retaining strong details and attractive original surfaces. A cornerstone coin of Victorian Indian silver coinage, this issue remains an essential acquisition for collectors of British India, world silver crowns, and classic numismatic rarities.
