(0 review)

These are two 1976 Montreal Olympic sterling silver commemorative coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint:

  • Canada, Elizabeth II, Silver 10 Dollars, 1976 – Montréal Skyline
  • Canada, Elizabeth II, Silver 5 Dollars, 1976 – Olympic Stadium (Velodrome)

Both coins are part of the official Montreal 1976 Olympic commemorative series and are struck in .925 sterling silver. The $5 coin weighs 24.3 g (0.7227 troy oz ASW), while the $10 coin weighs 48.6 g (1.4453 troy oz ASW).

The Canada 1976 Montreal Olympic Silver 5 and 10 Dollar commemoratives were issued to celebrate the XXI Olympic Games held in Montréal. The obverse of both coins features the youthful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin with the inscription "ELIZABETH II CANADA 1976", while the reverses showcase iconic Montreal landmarks associated with the Games. The 10 Dollar coin depicts the Montréal skyline, symbolizing Canada's largest host city, whereas the 5 Dollar coin features the distinctive Olympic Velodrome, one of the landmark venues of the 1976 Olympics. Struck in sterling silver with exceptional detail and mirror-like fields, these coins are highly regarded by collectors of Olympic memorabilia and world silver commemoratives.
