The South Africa George VI Silver 5 Shillings, 1952 is a beautiful crown-sized commemorative coin issued to mark the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Cape Settlement by Jan van Riebeeck (1652–1952). Struck in .500 fine silver, the coin weighs 28.28 grams (containing 14.14 grams or 0.4545 troy oz of pure silver) and measures 38.8 mm in diameter.
