A tiny and historically important gold denomination weighing approximately 0.39 g, featuring the Persian letter “He” within a dotted circle on the obverse and the reverse showing “Zarb Patan” with the retrograde Mauludi date 1218. The Patan Fanam is a well-known type of Tipu Sultan’s distinctive coinage and is particularly desirable when the mint name and date are clearly visible. The variety is catalogued as KM#128.1
