This attractive lot consists of two George VI Mixed Metal Half Rupees struck at the Bombay Mint (Dot varieties), representing different types and edge variations: 1939 Head Type I (A/I, Milled edge) catalogued as GK 1295, and Head Type II (B/II, Security edge) catalogued as GK 1304. Both coins feature the portrait of King George VI on the obverse with the classic wreath and denomination design on the reverse, along with the distinctive tiny diamond-shaped mint mark feature appearing on either the obverse or reverse, adding specialist variety interest. Issued during the transitional period of British India coinage, these half rupees reflect changes in die types and edge security patterns used by the Bombay Mint. Graded from About Uncirculated (AU) to Almost Uncirculated (AU+), both coins retain strong details, attractive surfaces, and good original eye appeal with only light traces of circulation. Scarce as a matched variety lot, this pair is a desirable addition to collections of British India coinage, George VI issues, and mint variety-focused numismatic sets.
