1979 Collectors Pack

India 1979 Collectors Pack (Year Pack) is an official philatelic pack issued by India Post containing 22 commemorative postage stamps released during the year 1979. The pack was sold at an original issue price of ₹19 and was designed to provide collectors with all major commemorative issues of the year in a single presentation folder. The stamps commemorate a wide range of subjects including national leaders, cultural heritage, science, aviation, the International Year of the Child, the Centenary of the Post Card (1879–1979), the Punjab Regiment, National Archives, Hirakud Dam, India International Trade Fair, and the XXIII IAEA Conference. From 1979 onwards, India Post generally included the total number of stamps issued during the year and their aggregate face value within the pack, making it a useful annual reference for collectors.
