1943 Mercury Dime (Philadelphia Mint)

The 1943 Mercury Dime from the Philadelphia Mint is a World War II–era U.S. silver dime and is identified by the absence of a mint mark on the reverse side. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs approximately 2.5 grams, has a diameter of 17.9 mm, and features a reeded edge. Each coin contains about 0.0723 troy ounces of pure silver. The obverse shows Liberty wearing a winged cap, popularly known as the “Mercury” design, while the reverse features a fasces and olive branch representing strength and peace.
