George VI, Silver, Half Rupee, (2 coins), 1939, Bombay mint, A/I, Head Type I, Milled edge, Calcutta Mint, A(a)/I, No dot, Head Type II, Milled edge. GK 1295, 1298. Extremely Fine to Brilliant Uncirculated. Very Scarce.

This lot comprises two George VI Silver Half Rupees (1939) representing both major mint and type variations from the British India series: a Bombay Mint (A/I, Head Type I, Milled edge) example catalogued as GK 1295, and a Calcutta Mint (A(a)/I, Head Type II, No Dot, Milled edge) example catalogued as GK 1298. Both coins feature the portrait of King George VI on the obverse and the classic wreath design with denomination on the reverse, showcasing the transitional portrait types used during this period. The Bombay Mint issue displays the earlier Head Type I design, while the Calcutta Mint coin reflects the later Head Type II portrait with the no-dot variety, making this pair especially desirable for collectors of mint and type differences. Graded from Extremely Fine (EF) to Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), both coins retain strong detail, attractive surfaces, and varying levels of original mint luster. Very scarce as a matched variety set, this lot is a valuable addition to collections of British India coinage, George VI silver issues, and advanced numismatic varieties.
