George V, Silver ½ Rupee, 1927, Calcutta Mint (Prid 330). Graded by NGC MS62

George V Silver ½ Rupee, 1927, Calcutta Mint (Prid 330) is a British India coin struck in .917 fine silver as part of the standard fractional currency series used widely across the Indian subcontinent during the colonial period. The obverse bears the crowned and laureate portrait of King George V with imperial legends, while the reverse features the denomination “½ Rupee” enclosed within a wreath design, along with the date and Calcutta mint mark. This issue belongs to the later phase of George V coinage, reflecting consistent design standards and high-volume circulation needs of the time. The example graded NGC MS62 indicates an uncirculated specimen with good mint luster and well-preserved detail, showing only minor contact marks consistent with light handling, making it a solid collectible representative of the late 1920s British India silver series.
